The Croatian law obliges at least one person on board to possess a valid nautical certificate along with the VHF certificate, issued in accordance with the stipulations on sailing in Croatia. Therefore, we require the certificate issued by the port authority, not the copy but the original to be on board, both certificate of competence in navigation and qualifications in operating the VHF station.
We suggest you send the copy of your certificate to make sure whether it is valid in Croatia before making final arrangements regarding your charter. However, you can still choose to take the skipper’s service or to take the course in navigation to obtain the certificate yourself.
The Croatia law is very strict on this issue. Therefore it is not possible to charter a boat without these qualifications or documents.
When you make final decision on your charter type and make all the arrangements, we suggest you read carefully all the articles of your contract. Once you sign the contract, you accept all the charter conditions.
One cannot leave the port or the anchorage without sufficient fuel supply or during bad weather conditions, nor unsafe conditions of the vessel or his crew.
Recreative and sport diving is allowed only with a proper membership card of the Croatian Diving Association. The diving permit is valid for a year from the date of issue and is issued only to divers with proper diving qualification.
